What You’ll Gain

        Hands‑on training across all stages of coil manufacturing

        A structured 4-year apprenticeship leading to a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering

        Block release to MTC to build your theoretical knowledge for a 3 year duration

·          16-week block rotation at our own Quartzelec Training school

        Experience in a modern, well‑equipped engineering facility

What You’ll Be Doing

During Your Apprenticeship

• Working safely and following all quality procedures

• Rotating through different areas of the coil manufacturing process

• Learning hand‑fitting techniques and how to use specialist machinery

 • Attending college lectures, practical sessions, and site visits

• Completing assignments on time and maintaining good academic progress

• Supporting continuous improvement activities

• Attending the workplace during non‑term time

 

Once Qualified, You’ll Be Able To:

• Manufacture a wide range of coils to engineering specifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions

• Use measurement tools such as micrometers, vernier callipers, and gauges

• Work independently and as part of a team

• Take ownership of tasks and contribute to ongoing improvements

 

Candidate skills and qualities required:

• Practical mindset with an interest in hands‑on work 

• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality work

• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others

• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges

• Problem‑solving ability and a logical approach to tasks

• Good time‑management and the ability to follow instructions accurately

• Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office

• Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility

• Curiosity about engineering and how things are made or repaired

• Ability to stay focused when carrying out repetitive or detailed tasks

• Adaptability when rotating through different areas of the workshop

• Commitment to safety and following safe working practices

MTC Training eligibility:

5 GCSEs grades 9-4 / A*- C (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language or English Literature

Future Prospects

Successful apprentices often progress into full‑time skilled roles within Quartzelec, with opportunities for further training, specialisation, and career development across our UK and international operations.
