This Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship offers an exciting opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, and practical experience required for a career in specialist engineering. The role is based within a company that specialises in on-site machining solutions, delivering precision engineering services to clients across the UK and around the world.

As an apprentice, you will work closely with experienced engineers and fitters to support the assembly, installation, operation, maintenance, and overhaul of bespoke on-site machining equipment. All machinery is custom-built to meet specific customer requirements and is regularly deployed to sites worldwide. When equipment returns from international projects, you will assist in its inspection, servicing, maintenance, and full mechanical overhaul to ensure it remains safe, reliable, and ready for future use.

Your training will cover a wide range of mechanical fitting activities, including the use of hand tools and measuring equipment, mechanical assembly and disassembly, fault finding, preventative maintenance, and repairs. You will also gain exposure to on-site work environments, learning how to work safely and efficiently while meeting strict quality, safety, and customer standards.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will develop an understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and safe systems of work. You will play an active role in supporting cost-effective engineering solutions while ensuring all tasks are completed in line with company procedures and relevant health and safety regulations.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in mechanical engineering who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving, and the variety of working with unique machinery in both workshop and site-based environments.
